We're ready in Virginia Beach but I think we'll only get a some wind and rain. Possible coastal flooding in the low areas.

Hanna made landfall here on Oak Island early last night, right around 1AM.

My guesstimate of 65mph max, maybe about 4" of rain. Not too bad but I had put up the shutters as a precaution.

Looks like I have some tree limbs down and a whole bunch of leaves, could have been a lot worse.

Ike appears to be heading WNW towards the Keys, and there is no more recurviture up the East Coast but that means it's heading for the
Gulf and a possible date with LA and AL. They can't get a break.....

It's just a rain maker, you'll just see where they need to make improvements around the area for drainage though. Bob the old director of the hurricane center lives down the road from me, I don't get worried until he's packing up his RV, or boarding up his windows.

We are located just E of the Center now, near Goldsboro, NC., winds have not been too bad, maybe 30/35 with gust up a little, we have had approx 2"rain altogether, not much more than a good noreaster., some power outages are reported but not too much of a problem..Forecast here for noon to be clearing.
PS: camping man and ladyRV'er keep your eye to the SE and let us know about IKE..

Hi Ron & Michelle,
The Rangers on Assateague ordered an evacuation. Mimi helped an OLD friend of ours take her Airstream to the Island Oasis on Rt 113. If the present path, as projected up the center of the Delmarva, holds up the beaches will take a heavy pounding as the northeast quadrant generally has the strongest breeze. We spent most of the summer at the beach but are home in Balto. County at present. We are expecting some winds and much needed rain. Hang on, don't stare at the sky! We too are snuggled up in our TC in the front yard, unconcerned about a power failure or other damage to the infrastructure, as ours is most managable and comfy.
Love to all,
skip
