I'm considering purchasing EXTERIOR sun screens from MCD Innovations. I learned of MCD on a recent episode of RV TV.

The question I have is what type of fastener FOR THEIR EXTERNAL SUNSCREEN do they use. I've looked at Sunguard as well and liked their twist lock fastener.

What do those who own MCD's think of the product? What type of fastener is availabe?

I have the MCD sunscreens on my coach and am pleased with them. They have snap fastners at the top and velcro that snap onto the coach and then stick to the sunscreen. Makes it easy to tighten them.

I also have the MCD sun screens on my Bounder DP. It is one of the best purchases that I have made for the motorhome. It is amazing what a difference they make in keeping the heat out.

My only gripe is having to get the ladder out every time I want to put them up. Of course, this gripe applies to any brand (except for that one that wraps around without fasteners).

I can take them down without a ladder. I use one of those grabber things like they use pick up trash. I've tried and tried to snap them on using the grabber thing too, but it can't be done.

Gary Franks commented about a ladder to install the sunscreens. Here is the Prompt RV Sunscreen we have used on our last three coaches and no ladder is required for installation. They are super easy to put on and they stay on. I was not real impressed with the MCD sunscreen, when I watched them install several at the last Monaco Rally we attended.

Second the Prompt Sunscreen recommendation. Easy on, easy off. We've had them on 3 coaches, and they stay put through most any conditions, except hurricanes.

I guess we were a little different. We really weren't impressed with Promt or the suction cups used to anchor them. Its true you need a ladder to install the MCDs and it really isn't a big deal we keep a little giant in our basement and take it out when we want to put them on. No need for a ladder to take them down.

Once they are on they stay on and the difference in light / heat is very noticeable. We also noticed a difference in quality of the mesh between the two.

Obviously there are lots of different products out there, pick the one you feel is best for you.

I just bought MCD screens for my Vacationer. I have not installed them yet, but I really like the screens. We had custom made ones on our previous coach and they really make a great difference keeping out the heat. The MCD people do not require you to take a bunch of measurements They have a template on file for most coaches. You just tell them what coach and floorplan you have. My screens came with HR logos on them which makes them look even better.
