To remind you all, I live out in the country,, and Yes, we have electricity!!
My dingbat neighbor does not take care of his yard very well. Tall grass and a fenced back yard with two dogs. Before I had heard gun shots over there and the neighbor on the other side of him had shot a water moccasin in his yard..
Well two days ago I head shots again.. The far neighbor was next door again shooting snakes. Claims they were water moccasins.. Smelled bad, white mouth and BIG.. They missed two others that escaped under the house.. Jeeze,, I would a little concerned to say the least cause not only are they dumb A rednecks but have 3 yr boy who is out in that yard often with the dogs and playing…
I recommended mothballs and the professional Snak-a –way which I know works but he looked at me like I was crazy. I am affair he has a “nest” under his house and with winter coming on; they are not likely to move out now. They are warm, safe and close to a food source, dog food..
Wish I knew what the heck to do. But at this point, since we live in the country and have no police force to speak of.. can’t think of a thing. I do keep my yard mowed and a way eye out when I do go out in the side and back yard. And of course I have my security camera focused on his “shooting gallery”.

Use the snake repellent around your own house. I would be afraid some would look for another place to winter over. Protect yourself first; don't try to get your neighbor to do it all.
Snakes eat live food, mostly rodents, so dog food is not something they are interested in.

Lets see. He is a "dingbat" and they are "dumb A rednecks " and yet you believe that mothballs will keep snakes away and that water moccasins eat dog food.

The main ingredient of Snake Away is Napthalene, also an ingredient of Mothballs.
I spread two boxes of mothballs under our TT to repel mice, side benefit that it could be repelling the sakes as well.

Yeah, just sprinkle it around the perimiter of your yard and it keeps the snakes In.

I thought the right to shoot snakes in your backyard was why people lived in Texas?
