We evacuated from Lafayette to the Dallas NE Caddo Mills KOA on Saturday and returned on Thursday. Hats off to the campground for making our stay pleasant. Labor Day we were given a catfish and shrimp fry. Man, it doesn't get any better than that! My 16 yeal-old son fed like a grizzly bear on the salmon stream.

I met a lot of other poor ole emaciated refugee folks from Lake Charles area and Youngsville. Can't remember names but hope everyone made out ok. Thanks for the fig preserves and ham to the family from Lake Charles. I really hope that you find this message on RV Net.

I sustained a major life-threatening injury when I bent over to take clothes out of the dryer and dinged my head on the coin slot! I doubt CNN will cover this story. If they did it would probably read, "evacuee sustains brain damage while camping". Go figure.

Where did you go to escape the storm?

I think the CNN coverage would say something like........

"Escapee has been brainwashed".........

Hope your head feels better!

We fled to Marshall, Tx from Erath. Six hour trip up on Saturday morning and 51/2 trip back on Wednesday playing dodge tornado all the way back. Scared wife so bad she wants to leave the RV home and stay in a hotel for IKE. Good grief now I'll have to find a place to stow the 5r! Perhaps Ike can find some place else to go, like the middle of the Atlantic.

Papa-B, Momma Dee, and 2 Pup-E's along for the ride.

We didn't go, but were on the receiving end. We had a houseful from South Texas, and our church opened up the family life center for over 200 special needs persons. I hope all are back home now and doing well..

We had reservations at Lake Bistineau, but thought that was not far enough away. My sister called around and found 2 spots at Pecan Grove RV park in Lake Village, AR. We left Saturday. It was me and my hubby, one of our sons, a friend, his daughter and our 2 dogs. Sunday was nice and I fried some shrimp and french fries for all. We left Wednesday to come home as the weather there ended up being rainy and windy. Lake Village was a nice town and the RV park attendants were very nice people. Glad to be home.
