From you regulars who go to Kennedy Meadows or anywhere North on 395, does the Shell station (or any station) in Pearsonville have Diesel??
Close to the 14/395 junction.
I would rather not go thru Ridgecrest, but we will if needed.
With the old Gazzer we had the option of dumping fuel from the fuel station into the T V, now that not an option. The only other place I will pass is Kramer Junction, but too far away to get up and back to K M.
Thanks in advance

The Shell at Pearsonville has diesel on the north side of the building, truck side.
Its recommended to hit 9 Mile Rd. as early as possible, due to the heat quotient. Aug' 1st I pulled up 9 Mile in the afternoon, as I had an appt. in the morning. We started the grade at 104 ambient temp, when cresting the top 10 miles later, it was still 101 degrees up there. My truck sucked the fuel, prolly 2mpg on that grade alone. And I pulled up in 4wd low range, fronts un-locked. I normally pull up that grade in the early morning, (70-80deg), first weekends of August, and truck barely touches the turbo, (4wd low).
Enjoy your trip Bob.

Bob,
The Diesel pumps at the Shell station in Pearsonville are set up for big rigs and have huge nozzles compared to the one's we see at most gas stations. It only takes a couple of minutes to pump a lot of money out of your wallet with 30 or so gallons of Diesel there, so you won't need to stand in the heat for long. If you have any money left after pumping the fuel , There's a Subway sandwich store inside the station if you're hungry.
Tow Vehicle:

Pro Street 1968 Chevelle
714ci Nitrous Injected
5 Speed Lenco Transmission
Best E.T. 6.57 seconds at 217 mph

My Old Gasser T V would NOT make it there on a tank, usually made it to Red Mountain Texaco, but if the wind was blowing at Us, We could only make 4 Corners. I am sure the new T V will make it there and it will be cheaper on the gas cards overall. After Kennedy Meadows trip, I have 2 more weekends in Ridgecrest for the GP to drain my wallet even more. The price you pay to have fun
Thanks for the info

Two weekends in Ridgecrest for the GP??? Are you a member of the Viewfinders MC? If so, that race is a lot of work to put on. I was in that club for several years and worked the event for the first four years it was held at the Fairgrounds in Ridgecrest.
