I would like a simple, low fat smoothie recipe to use frozen fruit. I have some frozen strawberries I would like to use in a smoothie. But alas I don't want (really I DO want, but I don't need) too many calories or too much fat. What ya got?

This is our "breakfast" smoothie that we have been using for about the past five years. We do not eat anything else until noon.

1 cup 100% fruit juice (diet if available) usually either orange or blueberry/cranberry/pomegranate
1 large serving spoon size of flax seed
1 large serving spoon size of wheat germ
1 cup lo-fat yogurt (usually vanilla)
1 apple
1 banana
1 plum
1 kiwi
4 large frozen strawberrys
1 cup frozen blueberrys
1/2 cup frozen mix-fruit

Blend until smooth and pour into large 32 oz glasses.

Simple...? Nope, but boy is it good! Very filling and provides all the fruit needed to keep the bowels in perfect working order.

Pamie, I made the WW smoothie! Very, very good! I can see this working with all sorts of frozen fruits . It takes very much like a milkshake, but without all the guilt. Thank you again!

vanilla low fat yogurt. i like Dannon Lite and Fit (no added sugar)
frozen fruit
splash of milk
I often add ground flax seed for the omega 3s and you can add bran, too

Low carb powdered Carnation Instant breakfast with frozen fruit and skim milk works, too.

I slice bananas, freeze them, and use them to make smoothies. Start with about 1 cup cold water or diet pop of you flavor, add 1 frozen banana, which was sliced previously, another fruit, (a sliced fresh peach, or frozen peach slices, fresh or frozen strawberries, fresh or frozen blueberries, etc.) Whir together-(if second fruit is not frozen, add a few ice cubes to make it thicker, and also cut down on the amount of liquid at beginning.) A tablespoon of frozen orange concentrate or a little lemon juice adds flavor.

After the fruit is thoroughly liquified, but thick, you can add powdered milk to add nutritional value, and make it more like a milk shake. (One third cup powdered milk equals one full cup of liquid milk.)

We have these frequently, and they are different every time! Just use your imagination. You can add a little sweetner, flavoring extracts- just a drop or two. We love them! Enjoy!

1 ripe banana frozen in chunks
1 cup skim milk
tiny sprinkle of nutmeg, fresh is way best
tiny dribble of vanilla
sweetener to taste, I use a very little stevia, almost needs none.

Tastes like a thick rich ice cream milk shake. I sometimes throw in a couple of frozen strawberries. You could add one or two pieces of about any frozen fruit. Terry R

I use Whey Protein powder. I prefer the Wild Strawberry from Vitamin World. This is what I mix up in a blender.

1/2 cup of 2% milk
1 small banana
1 sweetnlow
2 regular glasses of crushed ice from our ice dispenser on fridge
2 scoops of protein powder

Start blending slowly as you add each ingredient. Then increase blender speed as you add the ice. While this is not a lot in volume the blender will be FULL when blended. Yum Yum

Blueberries didn't work for me, peels. Strawberries did along with the banana.

If you use Vanilla Whey Protein add a little bit of vanilla extract.

But don't forget the Sweet-N-Low or it is just not sweet tasting enough to be satisfying.
