Thundering I don't have pics to prove it but I can guarantee the reason that the Walmart at Kisissmmee and the one on 27 at Clerbrook put up the no parking signs was because the families doing a week at Disney and bikers doing Daytonna pushed it to the limit. Grills, rugs, lawn chairs, even a dog run set up and dog cages. The last straw was the gray water routed into the storm sewer at the K store and a black tank dumped at the Rt 27 store. It ain't no urban legend cause I saw it coming for a couple of years. Cabellas and Walmart in Lancaster County PA are under a city ordinance because it is a tourist area. We use Walmart when traveling late, I don't like trees grabbing us at night at campgrounds. We prefer Cabellas because they have dump stations and it is quiet. It only takes a few bad apples to spoil things for the rest of us.

I just got this off of the Wal-Mart Company policy info.
Can I park my RV at a Wal-Mart store?
While we do not offer electrical service or accommodations typically necessary for RV customers, Wal-Mart values RV travelers and considers them among our best customers. Consequently, we do permit RV parking on our store lots as we are able. Permission to park is extended by individual store managers, based on availability of parking space and local laws. Please contact management in each store to ensure accommodations before parking your RV.
Hope this helps George

Try these sites for some insight before you arrive. I think you'll find that 9 out 10 Walmart stores are RV friendly, whoever's calling the shots.

This past weekend I found the perfect Super Walmart to stop and spend the night. I left the wife in the truck and went in and asked the manager. He said it would not be a problem. When I went out and told the wife, she said absolutely not! That I had to drive a 1/2 mile and spend the night in my own house. So, I save my $50.00 purchase for the next time and went home. Oh well, you can't blame a guy for trying.

Not true Don Don. Security is there for the people, customers and associates, not to protect the "store"

Finally someone posts a picture - of a trailer with a generator.
But I still did not see:
- Awnings out
- BBQ fired up a smoking
- Carpet down
- Chairs out
- Satellite dish setup
- Clothes Lines out
- Dogs tied to the bumper
- Sewer Hose on the ground
- Trash everywhere
All I see is a generator next to a trailer with covers over their tires. So the generator is the same as all the above? Yea right
NO ONE has yet to post ANY picture of what the Walmart Police are always complaining about. You would think in FIVE YEARS someone that has seen all of the above happening and happening as often as they claim, would be able to post a picture.
Yup - just an urban legend.
Come on Walmart Police prove me wrong, post some pictures of the 'infamous WalMart Camper'.
A generator just doesn't cut it...

Here we go again... Oh...BTW the WalMart in Placerville, CA does not allow overnite RV parking. However, many times I see "Hunter's Specials" in the lot for quite some time until the local law enforcement gets them to leave...It is my understanding it depends on where the WalMart is located and whether there are local laws against overnite parking. I would just call ahead to the WalMart you plan on staying at and ask them if it is aloud. Good luck.

We love Walmart while on the go. Unfortunately with six kids, we usually end up spending between $100 and $200 the next morning.
One of the things that I especially like is all the camera's. Crooks and cameras don't mix well. Crooks crave privacy.
Next time your at Walmart, look up, you'll notice the roof is bristling with cameras. I'd say 15 or 20. I always try to park with my door under a light, facing the store, in line with one of the cameras.
They need the cameras for security and false insurance claims. I'm sure they archive all the video for several days. Their very presence prevents trouble.

When you say "He" I assume you mean the security guard. Keep in mind most WallMarts have up to 16 cameras (24 hour recording) covering the outside of the building and you can take it from someone that installs this kind of equipment, just the fact they are there makes it one of the safest places to be.
