Is the road 541/40 from Longview to Seebe a "driveable" road with a rental car or is it strictly a logging road? Or should we stay on 22/549? Would like to see the true wilderness on our way up to Calgary if at all possible. Thanks for any input.

541 and 40 are paved. 940 south of their junction is gravel.
You'll be crossing Highwood Pass. In the fall the colors from aspens and alpine larch are great in this area.

Absolutely driveable - even with your RV. Through the Kananskis country - scenery rivals that of Banff/Jasper. One of our all time favorite drives o- anytime of year but especivally in the fall!

Be aware that the 40 is closed between King Creek (entrance to Peter Lougheed Park) and Highwood House in the winter, between 1st Dec and 15 June.
