Look at any phone company or national grid truck and you will see an exposed genset.I have seen them running in the rain outside my house.Just keep it covered when not using.

If this is something you will be doing on a regular basis you may want to consider an automatic transfer switch. I did that with mine. When I run the EU2000i it automatically transfers the feed from the shore power to the generator. My EU200i lives in the box of the truck with a short 10 gauge cord running from it thru the pinbox into the basement where the transfer switch is. Works great & I don't have to get out the 50 amp cord.

And that's exactly what I do. Sorry for any confusion.

When we camped in the TC and pulled the boat, DH made a rack on the boat trailer for the GEN. Ran a cord to the camper to run the A/C for the kids. Worked fine. The A/C was a household wall unit we put into the back window. This was back in the '60 when TC did not come with roof mounted AC.
