You have my apologies for ReVoker's posts in this thread. They're gone now. (Sorry if any of your replies to his posts are gone too.)

Hopefully that's the end of it.

kwlincoln - Are you guys getting your lives back together? How does the rest of Houston look? Best of luck to all of you.

Regarding hurricane Ike, we ran the full range of issues among family and friends. We were blessed for the most part. My house did well with the exception of one of our oaks (100-120 year old 50-60' tall). It went to the neighbor's back yard taking their oak with it. 1 1/2 days of cutting cleaning up. My employees had downed trees, leaking roofs and water damage, broken fences etc. Most importantly, no injuries or major damage. I have one woman who works from her house in Galveston and will make her first visit to it Wednesday.

Steve's the one who's been doing all the heavy lifting this year.

My online "attendance" hasn't been so hot so far in '08. I've been lucky with a lot of business to offset the beating my wife's construction company is taking.

Kay-Dub - I'm glad to hear there were no injuries and your home did OK. Sorry to hear about the trees. Are things getting back to normal in Houston? Your gal from Galveston can't be looking at good any good news. I don't know what they're going to do down there.

Good luck to all of you.

As an Andrew & Wilma survivor, glad to hear you are OK. Sad to hear about the trees. My class B sat on the drive way for 8 days after Wilma. Most of my neighbors had smaller, much louder generators that required fuel every 6 hours. My current toyhauler is too big for the driveway. When I load it, I block the street. No one cares. I have great neighbors and no Home Owner's Assoc.

Good luck to all of you. Rebuilding is stressful. If it doesn't hit you now, wait til 6 months from now.

Not easy to get this thing in the driveway. The angle is too steep to back it in without having to raise the tongue to an unsafe height.

And the tree...

That's gotta be a season's worth of firewood there!

(Looks like the storm interrupted your Outback Awning installation.)

Glad you're OK.
