Very satisfied with our '05. The biggest change in the '07 was increased headroom. Saw the '09 powerbridge chassis at Hershey. The improvements are many, they will have to deal to move leftovers IMO. There is a price uptick on the '09 but the difference in the coaches are great. I personally would go with the '09 Providence to get the 360hp 1050ftlb engine.

Borregoman,
Heres how I see this...
#1...If your buying a current year model (08 in 08) you can get at least 27% off MSRP, nice thing about Fleetwood is they post MSRP on there web site.
#2...New or not a 07 is two calander years old and 3 year models old cause the 09 are on the market,
#3...Calculate 27% off of MSRP then take into acount at least two or maybe
2 1/2 years of deprecation, this number will give you a reasonable idea of the market value of this coach, I know this unit is new, probably under 1000 miles however there is still 2 1/2 years of deprecation to account for.
Once you come up with a number ask your self two questions,
A...What is the sale price to market value ratio ??
B...How much, if at all will I be upside-down ?
C...Is this acceptable to me ??

I bought an 08 Discovery 40X this past June and just love it. The price was VERY good considering the market. It has a Cummins 350 and I pull a GMC Envoy and you don't even know it is behind you.

This coach is MSRP'ed at $208,000...Dealer will sell for $150,000..One big reason I like this unit it has,(for now), the last year of Cat C7 engine in the Discovery. But apparently the Fleetwood "house" is at best average. That is what most folks tell me, and idependent comments. But the Freightliner XC/3000 Allison/CAT C7, appears to be a good combination..

chiefcramer wrote: Although we haven't owned a Fleetwood product we have purchased two units that were sitting on a lot for more than 18 months. A suggestion for you if you decide to make this deal, get it in writing that the roof caulk/sealant will be examined/redone. Also consider getting the oil in the generator changed out with a new filter. Can't think of all the other things we had done the second time but we learned from the first time that the roof caulk had cracked while it sat idle on the lot for such a long time. The second time around, we looked at the owners manual to see all the things that the manufacturer recommended be checked on an annual basis and had the dealer take care of those things before we took delivery.
Granted the unit is new and still has a full warranty but it was a lot less trouble to have things done before we picked it up and then having to bring it back in later.

All VERY good points. I will insist on these maintenance issues looked at and performed prior to taking delivery.
Thanks,

According to Fleetwood's web page the 09 Discovery starts at $214k, thats a 37 footer with three slids,
If you calculate a 28% discount (which I think is possible) sale price is $154k !!!
This is a new 09 !!!!
Another suggestion is to step back from the dealer your with now
and get online and start pricing new 09's
make a few offers at 28% off MSRP and see what happenes.
I made several offers until I found a dealer in PHX that wanted to sell, I made a reasonable deal at 27.5% off MSRP.
Borregoman, be careful !!
