I know you TH people have done this yourselves. I put the drain pan under the gennie and turned the valve to drain the oil, but the oil won't drain. What am I missing? The oil is full to the recommended level.

I can tell you exactly what it is. Take a pair of pliers and gently pull on the hose underneath the gen. More than likely the drain hose is kinked and pulling it down will free it up. At least when I had this same issue, that's what fixed me.

You shouldn't need to but you might also want to pull the fill plug/dipstick to release the vapor lock.

If I remember right that valve opens a long way. seems like it took a couple of turns before oil would start to flow

COAT HANGER!!! I think a bug(s) started something up there. I poked it with a coat hanger and out came the oil!! Yeah! Job done.

I've been taking advantage of hurrican Ike having my camper at the house (which is usually not allowed) fixing stuff and not putting on my Outback ramp room. I bought the thing nearly a year ago and it was still in the box! Power has been back on since Wednesday, so I have to finish today so as to not annoy the neighbors with whom I get along great with. Just a matter of respecting the rules.
