Is there a better way to find a slow leak in an air mattress than painting it with soapy water and hoping that bubbles form at the leak, its not a bad system if you have the time but its messy and it takes a long time to dry,not the kind of thing you want to do if you plan on sleeping on that mattress that night.I'm talking about a flocked queen size with built in pump.

Never tried it but could put pressure on the mattress to force more air out then float tissue paper over the surface to see when it catches the air?

Have you tried baby powder. If you can get some inside the mattress, blow it up and watch for the powder coming out the hole. Or fill it and lightly sprinkle/rub the powder over the outside of the mattress and watch where the powder blows away from.

Have a couple of kids hold it under water in a bath tub, swimming pool or lake/pond till the air bubbles give it away! We did this on my son's expensive air bed, after looking in vain for weeks, found the pinhole leak within 4 minutes. Patched it, and good to go!

They always seem to get a slow leak on long trips… blow it up at night and wake up sleeping on a flat mattress… They best fix I found was to throw it away and buy a trailer…. Now the bed is great but I worry how to fix a slow leak in a, tire, water heater, propane connection, water tank, city water hook up, wallet… but the bed has never been a problem

Spray bottle with water and liquid soap... bubbles should form at the leak.
