We found a a new 08' Jayco 29.5 RLS and the dealer is asking $23,570. Just wondering if this sounds about right or if we should keep looking.

Doesn't matter what he is asking. Do your homework--find the value, determine how much you are willing to pay. Then make the offer.
Stick to your offer. Thank them and leave---and you have to actually leave.
If you don't hear from then in a few days--week, find another unit.
A dealer will always sell for less then they are asking. And it's your money. You need to act like you are running the show.

Determine the NADA wholesale price and offer'em $2K less. If they don't take it? Walk. There's only about a 1000 more just like it out there.

I took the time to price one on the Jayco website. Depending on options you are looking at a MSRP around 35k. Sounds like a good deal to me.

Yep, that looks to be a good deal.. I would get that figure locked down before they decided they had "miscalculated" and need more money (had that happen on a truck once.... For all I know, they still have it because I walked away from it when the crawfished on the price they offered..)..

RV dealers are in the hurt box.
As others have stated - do some quick -but thorough- research.
Call (or e-mail) a couple of other dealers (how about RV Wholesalers?)
and get a price on a similarly equipped unit.
That will give you a good idea of how good a deal it is. Go from there.
Happy negotiating!
