DW and I are having a difference of opinion on this issue. If you fill the fresh tank with water, have an empty gray tank, run the generator for power, turn on the water pump.....is there any other reason that would prevent someone from washing clothes while traveling down the road????

It seems like a waste of resources for a tiny load of laundry. Also it may affect the rotation of the tub. I am assuming it is a small front loader and they are supposed to be pretty much level while in operation.

I imagine the washers are primarily supposed to be used while on hookups.

I'm sure you could, on the smooth interstate. (is there a smooth interstate ) Especially a front loader. They don't use much water at all.

I've never used ours while on the road. I've not wanted to take the chance on messing my washer/dryer up; the drum/tub might become unstabilized while it's trying to spin and we're hitting those road bumps.

Call Splendide, or whatever manufacturer you have. Theoretically, I think it would work, but as others have said, it must be level when it goes to spin. Mine turns a lot of rpm's and it says in the manual it must be level.

I have done it when necessary, but Splendid says not to, no reason given.

Back when we fulltimed, we did it several times. We have a Splendide 2001 in our Dutch Star, and it works just fine, going down the road or sitting in RV park. All you have to do is start with full water tank and an empty grey water tank. Our tanks are fairly big, and doing two loads is not a problem.

Disclaimer:
I only will use the washer/dryer while on the road IF I know that there's dumping facilities at my destination, or while enroute.

Splendide says not to because of fresh and gray water capacity is different on different coaches. We have 100 gal fresh 55 gal gray,
can do 3 loads no problem.

Not that I know of... However you need to know how much capacity you have in your tanks, As Gypsytech said. If you do 40 gallons of wash and only have a 36 gallon tank.. You got a problem.
