Very nice mount, I made the low profile pvc mount with 4 legs, works great.
At this point...I can't see coming off the $$$$ for the align-a-sight...maybe when I am in heavy tree cover and can't get the race or ball game on I will justify the expense.

Great Job!!!

I just made a cross from a 1x6 and a 2x4 notched so the 1x6 would fit flat into it. It lays flat on the ground. I bolted the mast that comes with the dish onto the 1x6. I level it with some nearby rocks, or whatever is handy. I have had it sit steady in 40+ MPH winds without a problem.

Thanks! As for the Align-A-Site, I agree it's expensive. But it sure does simplify aiming. It seems that lately I've had to deal with a lot of trees. At least half the time I've had to find just the right spot. Here's a shot of the dish setup this morning (sorry for the poor quality, the pic is from my phone.) The top of the dish with the Align-A-Site is the dark silouhette in the bottom corner.

There was one little hole in the tree cover. The dead branch goes right through the line of sight. One satellite is to the left and slightly above the branch, one is below and to the right. If I moved the dish one foot either way, I could get a good signal on one satellite, but nothing on the other. In the middle where it is, I could compromise and get a poor (but usable) signal on both birds.

Without the Align-A-Site, I'm sure I would never have found that magic sweet spot.
