We got back from camping and the unit is in the driveway, well there is a small drip coming from the bottom left cornor where the black water gate bolts to the "exit" pipe. I tightened the connection some, (all four cornors)that didn't do any good. The RV repair place told me to replace the rubber gasket between the gate and pipe, they want ~$60 to do it. It's a 2007 unit and I am having problems thinking the gasket is bad.. Now, the black water tank has two gallons of water in it, is there anyway I can empty that here? I'm guessin' not. The other question: is there anything else I can put on it to stop the leak without taking it apart? If necessary I can post a picture if this is not clear...

Thanks,

Jim

Buy a new valve from Camping World or any RV store. Drain and flush the tank. Set the unit up so the outlet is higher than the tank. Now replace the valve.

Not sure where is, if at home, drain into a 5 gallon and dump pail in toilet in house.

Bite the bullet and go to a dump station and dump/flush the tank. Then replace the valve which is the likely suspect. This is a good thing to know how to do before you have to do it while on the road. Two words: Rubber gloves.
