That front AC and the hitch were the contigency items we requested as part of the deal when we bought our rig...no way we'd ever venture out without it.....GL

Full timed in a 07 37RL for 22 months in MD- GET IT!!
"Cool" trick is to turn the BR unit down low before you go to bed so it will be chilly when you go to bed, then turn it up a notch so you can watch TV while falling asleep without it on and then will kick on again as needed when you are already counting sheep.
It was also nice not to work the snot out of the LR unit..

Go for it, if you are in a area with high heat and or high humidity you will not regret it. It will cost you a lot more than that to add it later. I just added one to our 5er.

Definitely get it. Don't think twice. What I like about it is as previously posted letting that unit get the BR nice and cool by itself. Also, we've been taking my in-laws with us and they stay in the rear and prefer it a bit warmer so we let them have that unit and we can cool the BR a bit more to our liking.
Another plus is when you first hook up and it's 100+ it's nice to have 2 units dumping. Especially when in our case there is a 3 month old sitting in a running vehicle while the 5'er cools down a bit.
Then there's the times where we have our unit on a site for a month and go up to it on the weekends. It pays off nicely to jack up the temp during the week and then knock it down quickly when we get there for usage. Also those weekends can see some large crowds and that can really help keep up with extra people.
Also, its nice to have a backup in case one were to poop out! I doubt many have ever quit working when it was convenient for them to.

We do this same thing and it works really well for us to. Our bedroom unit comes on maybe 3 or 4 times during the night if the lows are in the 80's.

Two a/c's should be standard equipment on any 5'er. I'd have 3 a/c's if I could git them!!!

We spend the winters in Arizona where the late Feb and March temps get into the 80s and low 90s. No humidity but a little warm. By using the BR a/c you keep the noise out of the lounge area. In the summer it really helps especially with the humidity.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Down our way, a second A/C unit for a large RV is a good idea. Your main unit may be able to keep the inside cool, but it probably won't cycle for 8 to 10 hours during a summer day down here if you're not parked under a shade tree.

A single unit on that size trailer won't keep you comfortable at 90dF never mind 100dF. Get the extra unit and make sure it has 50 amp service.
