Hello,
I had my RV fridge plugged in for a few days via electric. I took the motorhome for a spin a couple days ago. Upon arriving back I plugged the RV cord back in. The fridge does not seem to be working now. Do I need to reset something?
The AC etc is working via electric. Thanks,

Is the display on the front of the refer working?
Check receptacle in outside access for power and make sure cord has not come out. There is a fuse on most control circuit board for AC power.
You should not have to do anything depending on make and model of refer.

The AC is working. Does the fridge maybe require a fuse?

Yes, there is a fuse on the circuit board.
Start by checking for the two small wires that go from the circuit board to the stack for the electric element. Check with meter to see if 120 AC volts is present. AC would indicate that the element may have failed. Check element for continuity.
It is possible that the circuit board AC relay has failed.

I just got through looking at the 1976 instruction for the fridge. It was hot in the RV today and the temperature should have been lowered. I will try this for now. Thanks

You said you had the MH plugged in for a few day, before you took it for a drive, was the refrigerator on and operating then? if so it should work when you got back from your ride and plugged back in.
Does it work on LP Gas? The freezer should get cold in a few hrs, and the refrigerator compartment a few hrs longer, if all is well.
If you ever smell ammonia around it, its bad news, and you can stop messing with it.
Good Luck.

I am not sure what you mean by this. Why would it smell like Ammonia?
I did light it up for the first time via LP Gas tonight. We are going camping tomorrow so I do need the fridge cold. I will investigate more after the tri concerning electric.

The system uses ammonia water mixture in the cooling unit as the agent to transfer the heat. When the cooling unit leaks, you will smell ammonia and see yellowish colored reside.

I am now running it for the first time via LP Gas. I left it on all night and it is cooling. Is it alright to smell a little hint of gas inside the motorhome?
Thanks,
(Also, I see no yellowish ammonia.) Thanks for the info though.

Are you smelling LP Gas or burned stack gas? You should not smell any unburned gas, but some times the wind can bring in a little stack gas, that's LP Gas that's been burned, like off the cook top.
But smelling unburned LP Gas is not good, and you should find the problem or have it found and repaired ASAP.
You got the answer to not wanting to smell Ammonia around an RV (Absorption type refrigerator), it means big repair bills or replacement. But that doesn't seam to be your problem, but dont forget that. If it work good on gas, the electric heating element is likely bad, its sort of common. But I wouldn't worry about it as long as it works good on gas, that's all we use is gas.
