We are staying at Disney from the 19th - 26th of December, and trying to extend those days, though we're having no luck so far.

However, we don't want to leave Florida on the 26th. Does anyone have any ideas where we could camp, not necessarily near Disney (but we're not ruling that out either). We love the look of Fort DeSoto, but there are no sites available for pets.

We have a 35 foot Class A, two kids, two small dogs. Any help would be appreciated.

Guess it would help if you gave some direction that you are willing to go in...if you leave Disney? North, South, East, West??? Florida is a pretty good size state, and there is lots to see. Your problem is, that you are going to be there during the peak of the Snow-Bird season, and most CGs will be pretty busy.

It would also help to know how many more days you are looking for.

North and central Florida has many nice state parks with camping. Make reservations or you will not get a spot. Enjoy

Sorry, we will want to head north - we'll be making our way back to Canada, and we want to stay until about the 30th.

Just outside of lake city is a couple of campgrounds that are near I-75 and I-10. October bend rv, In and Out, Casey Jones, Stephen foster, just to name a few. some have websites and you may want to check out a club directory to get more info. Btw lake city, florida is about 2-3 hours north of disney.

A trip up the East Coast of Fla to visit the Kenndy Space center will be great even if there is no launch. There's a campground in Titisville called Manatee Hamock, it is city owned. Right one the river, you can look out from there water front and see the shuttle Assembly building. They have a pier for fishing.

Silver River State Park in Ocala is beautiful. It's a bit off I-75.
