Good Morning,
Has anyone experienced Lazy Days delivering your new motorhome to you and driving your old one (in trade) back we purchased an 03 Monaco Dynasty new and our saleman says no problem to purchasing a new unit via e-mails and internet and he will have our new coach delivered to us up in New England. When do we officially take possesion? prior or when they hand us the keys What if something goes wrong on the trip up? Are they driving up on our insurance, or their dealer plate. What experiences has anyone had out there with this type of transaction.
Thank You

I don't have any experience with this - sorry. But, I sure would be concerned about buying the unit without driving it. Further, I'd prefer to do the PDI at the dealership so there's no hassle with getting your "punch list" taken care of after the fact.

Just my .02.

If your post is correct and you are buying an 03 motor home, I would want to have the right to a complete inspection before taking possession and finalizing the deal.

Welcome to the Forum.
My opinion:
I would be very reluctant to do a deal like this. Without a doubt when you buy a new unit, you will find "this and that" in your pre-delivery inspection that needs attention..BEFORE you leave the dealer's lot.
If you take delivery in your driveway from someone that is only hired to bring your coach to you, who then and where do you turn to get the "this and thats" taken care of.

Better to be at the dealer where service bays and techs are available. I can almost promise that there will be "this and thats." Also how will this coach look after a very long delivery road trip. I would want mine completely detailed as part of the deal.

Are they making this deal without even looking at your trade or what?
As far as the legal ramifications of the scenarios you mentioned, I would have them send you a signed promise of sorts as to what they'll do or won't do. As far as the company goes, they're one of, if not the biggest and can't really afford to create too much discontent among their customers. They're also one of the few dealers that don't take a severe bashing on a daily basis. I mean they take some of it, like all of them, but not as severe as one might expect, considering the volume they do. Also with things down now, I'm sure they're very anxious to please.
Keep us posted on the results.

I agree with everyone else.... fly down, inspect the coach, make them repair everything you find and then drive it back.

In addition.... you can buy it cheaper than their "internet price"

Agree with the other posters,

Only pick up the New coach in person, on site, with PDI

Drive old RV down and drive new RV up...

We took delivery in Georgia, to save taxes. But we rode with the Lazy Days driver. We went to Lazy Days, purchased our unit, went back a week later and moved in. Inspected it, had a few dis-n-dats fixed and sat back and rode with their driver.

Found another bo-bo, showed the driver and had it fixed. Sent LD the bill, they paid, no question.

My recommendation to you is to go down there, take possession in Georgia ( They have a notary there) and enjoy a nice leisurly drive back home.

I think these are questions you should direct to Lazy Days and get an answer in writing particularly as it pertains to insurance and any damage. Remember someonne drives these things from the factory to the dealers so it has been 'delivered' already once with hopefully no problems. I would also make sure that the 'driver' does not use the MH in any way other than driving it.

We purchased our 03 new, and are now looking to trade up but time and distance precludes us from driving too and from. The saleman says this is fairly standard for the industry.
Thank You
