We want to visit Epcot in late December or early January. We prefer a state or county campground rather than Fort Wilderness or a KOA. We'd like E and W hookups, but can get along without sewer at the site if there is a dump station. We will not have children or grandchildren with us on this trip. Thanks for your suggestions.

Yup, Wekiwa Springs is a great suggestion. One of my favorites.
I'll add Lake Louisa State Park to the south of Disney - Never stayed there, but it gets good reviews from many folks.
IMPORTANT -- please get reservations this weekend...or you may be out of luck. Locals camp all autumn and winter in Florida. Our state parks are already booked up on some weekends.

I appreciate your suggestions, because I want to make reservations SOON. I know at a very busy time of year, and I hope we can get a campsite for sevveral nights. We had reserved two weeks at Fort DeSoto back in June, and now we realize we can stay in the area for another 5 or 6 days, before I have to return to my tutoring job at an elementary school.

If you go to Wekiva Springs make sure you go to the state park. There is an older park that we pulled into nearby also referred to as wekiva springs that is private and is less than positive. At the time, limited working connections(W&E), what looked to be a lot of permanent sites that were .... Sorry I don't mean to sound prissy or snobbish but my wife was in tears and very uncomfortable particularly when we were told by a resident that it wasn't the safest place in the world. We had no problem getting our money back.

Lake Louisa State Park is another State Park close to Orlando. I don't think it is as nice as Wekiwa Springs but it does have some 50 amp and some sewer connections. There isn't much shade though.
