I have a Eureka 1312 and overall it is a great tent. It has some really good adavantages and a few disadvantages.

The Good
1) The Windows are fantastic. Huge windows on all sides let you feel like you are a part of the wilderness.

2) Love the 2 doors

3) The Power port is nice. We use a fan and I sometimes bring a computer so having the slit for the extention cord is nice.

4) Sweep out point - a small place in the floor you can pull flat to sweep out the dirt that will inevitably find it's way in your tent.

5) Space - the 1312 sleeps our family of 4 with all equipment and fans easily... I imagine the 1512 would sleep 5-6.

6) The Customer Service. When I was looking for a family tent I narrowed it down to Eureka, Columbia and Coleman. When you call Eureka you are actually getting Eureka, not an answering service. They will answer your questions and if the person on the phone does not know the answer they will find out and call you back.

7) Aluminum Poles - the side wall poles are strong. Roof poles are fiberglass, but not weight bearing.

The disadvantages
1) It is not a cold weather tent. If it's gonna get in the 30's you better be ready to bundle up.

2) Set up - really needs 2 people. But it is easy with 2 people.

3) Stakes - cheap, cheap. Get stakes from a supply store.

4) Door zippers - open them slowly, sometimes they get stuck.

Overall I would buy it again in a heartbeat, the customer service is waht really, really sold me.

Thanks Teambanzai. We will use it about 4-6 times a year with the 3 smallest grandkids ages 4-7.Planning on getting nice cots with good mattresses, along with the stand alone A/C with heat. Is this still considered camping?

Lets see, you're in Georgia... heck yea it's still camping when you use the AC. Another reason you will like the power port. I've been thinking about getting an AC Boot put in mine so I can enjoy June and September camping. You know how those months are in the South.. might be 75, might be 95. Heck May and October are just as bad.

I hear ya pal. It can be 25 to 90 degrees from Oct. to March. A couple of hundred bucks for the boot plus a small window unit, you in business.

we had the tetagon 1210 with a family of 5 and had plenty of room (kids were 2,3,5 at the time). In fact we slept on one side and had a spare room on the other.

We did beach camping in April in Panama City. I woke up after a pretty good thunder storm. Didn't even realize we had one. Our camp was fine and tent was dry. Saw a lot of other tents blown down.

Its a good tent, but rats like to chew threw them. Found out the hard way

Thanks for the replies. I did not. I repeat. I did not see the comment about the rat. I'm glad my wife rarely reads this site.

One thing to remember, it is a High all tent, so if you've got any sort of real wind you are gonna want to use your guy out lines. We camped and Big Lagoon State Park in Florida and staked it in the sand... the wind flipped it on the day we were leaving. This was just after we had pulled everything out and were getting ready to take it down.

We did use ours in a monsoon last June, we only had a small drop of water in the corner and I'm pretty sure that was from a zipper not closed properly. I was really impressed since I hadn't even sealed it at that point.

The only con i can think of is its a big tent and at 15'X 12' its going to be a tight fit in some campsites especially if you have to park the car on the campsite as well.
