Many stations are out of gas in the Newnan area and the Franklin area. Availability seems to be better in the LaGrange area.
DH had trouble finding diesel in Franklin on Tuesday. He found diesel in Newnan.
DS drove to Orlando Wednesday. He had no problems finding gas.

I filled up today at $3.85 a gallon for the Regular. I'm hoping things are going to improve soon! Have a safe journey to Helen! It a really cool place to visit during Octoberfest!
I need to retract my previous statement about gas in North Georgia from a few days ago. In Dalton, most gas stations are now totally depleted. I'm not sure why Georgia is having these issues when other States are doing well? Good Luck to anyone trying to travel!

We are now in Oklahoma City, headed back to Baltimore. Are there any spot shortages other than in Georgia that I should take into account?

I'm in extreme Southeast TN bordering both GA and NC and gas is actually getting harder to find than earlier in the week. All stations in our small town are completely out.

I am about 1 hour outside the city and have not seen any lines or issues at the stations I have been to. But to be safe I will fill up the rental car before I get to Atlanta.
I heard on the radio on the way home that the EPA temporarily suspended the blend rules, and now any blend is allowed in Atlanta to help with the shortage.

A lot of stations are out here in the Augusta, GA area. It seems that a station will have gas for one day and not the next depending on tanker deliveries.
Diesel has been rock solid and available at just over $4 a gallon, it's nice to have a diesel truck right now.

Oh geez, I MUST get to Eatonton this Monday, and being that it's not far from Athens, I'm betting on a problem-I live in north Florida, and one tank will get me from my home to Eatonton, JUST. Maybe I should buy a 5 gal gas can and take some with me. 5 gallons won't get me home, but it will get me further south where I might be able to buy gas..

You can read a post of mine this morning where i put in an article from our local paper. Senator Chambliss is saying another week of gas shortages. Does not mean NONE, but as long as you fill up when you see it, you will probably be ok.
I would not haul around a can of fuel inside my vehicle. It is unsafe enough in the back of a pickup.
Just my 2 cents.

Why would you consider it unsafe to haul a can of gasoline in the bed of a pickup, assuming it's a safe gas can and securely tied down?

Thanks
Gary, maybe we will see you up there, we are leaving St Augustine on Thursday morning for Helen. I will top off the tank here at FJ and then we are going to go up US1 and GA 15 toward Athens. Will check and probably fuel again before we get to Athens which will take us into Helen. I am hoping that by traveling the back roads, fuel will be more readily available.
