anyone overnight (no slides, no grills, etc) Homestead, florida very recently. Last time we went by 2005, there were LOTS of rv's there. I am needing a night somewhere and maxed out in the keys in state parks...just for one night.

I have stayed there in the past but when we went by in July there was not one RV in the whole lot, which looked strange because it is usually packed, might need to call them.

Florida has a very un- frendly policy to RV owners who do not stay in one of there paid camp grounds. This is due to a very powerful private campground owners state lobby force. So unless you pay to stay, your options might be limited. Yes there are some FREE spots to be found, but they are very few and far between, as a whole.

The latest un-official Walmart No Park list shows about 75% of the stores in Flordia as being no park stores and 25% as park stores. Didn't figure the exact percentage, just a guestament. Homestead is not on the no park list.

Isn't that real nice Dade Coounty Park Campground just up the road?

...wow, that's like $2000 a month (plus fuel and maintenance)! I'd give up RVing entirely If I was predisposed to RVing in Florida for that rate, and rent a villa in the tropics with maid and cook included for far less...

Good luck,
