You didn't mention brand nor model.

Our Sharp convection R-1874 would only run 59 seconds and stop. A local repair place came to my house, removed it and took it to his shop. Brought it back the next day and reinstalled it. Dealing with Sharp wasn't a good experience for us which is why we went to a local guy who only repairs microwaves.

It was under $140 total.

New ones were running about $600 to $700 for a convection microwave which is what my wife wanted.

On my rig two of the bolts that held it in place came down from the top of the unit. The cabinet over the microwave had the floor STAPLED in and about 15 staples had to be pulled out in order to get to the two screws. Needless to say the floor now has wood screws.

You may have just blown a fuse. They are fused protected so it may just be a simple repair. Sometimes the fuses are inside mounted with a fuse holder or on the board.

Bumpyroad...That was Feb this year. I was surprised at the price also. The convection microwaves are all this high that I looked at.

I was going to get a non convection but the wife wanted the convection because we don't have an oven. So that was when we decided to have ours fixed.

We took out our stove w/oven and replaced it with the three burner cook top; replaced our microwave with the convection/microwave. The new unit, from Home Depot - $600, fit the space; however, had to replace the mounting bracket with the new one which came with the new unit.

The only difficulty was the weight of the convection/microwave; lifting it into place was awkward. There was a template that came in very handy. For once, I read the installation procedure.

Thanks for all the replies. It was a Sharp Convection microwave Model R1874. We will replace it with a Sharp R1880LS, Amazon has it for $481 with free shipping. We did check the fuses and they were OK. I also unplugged it and waited but it still shuts off. I am looking for our papers on the surge protector. The surge protector is a TRC model 34750. We plug it into the electrical box and then plug in the electric cord from the MH. We bought it at Camping World for around $225 - 250. We will also put another surge protector on the new microwave.

Everything else in the MH seems to be working.

Thanks for all your help!

That's the same model I have. A search on here will show they have had their share of problems.

Does it shut off after 59 seconds? That 59 seconds is the clue that an internal door is supposed to open and it doesn't, causing the microwave to shut off. It's the motor on that internal door that is bad. I saw more than five people with the same 59 second problem.

To remove that microwave there are four screws, Two are on the bottom and run diagonally up to the wall. There are two more that come in from the top and that's where I had a problem with the cabinet floor above then microwave being stapled in.

You should have two people there when you remove it as it is heavy and can get away from you.

We ordered our new Sharp micro/conv at crate and home online was also delivered to the house for $489, also got an extended war as the Sharp we had was a pain. It had died 2 times in 2 years. DH didn't want to change mounting plates after seeing where Winnie had reinforced the walls at the plant.
