As you may remember, for the past couple of years, any of us who are older and more conservative, (financialy), who predicted that tought times were coming, were laughed at and told that they did not understand modern life.

Well, where are the sceptics now? Seems for the past couple of weeks, everyone has finaly realized that the days of spending money that one does not have are ended, probably not to return for years if ever.

The lifestyle of the past twenty years could not last, did not last and will probably never return in our lifetimes.

The folks with excellent credit will still have access to it. The ones who should not have gotten loans for whatever just proved why it was so. The U.S. Congress is as much to blame for this mess as anyone else.

Every time the markets take a big correction, the general sentiment is that the days of free spending are over. When the market turns again, everyone will be buying again. It's a market cycle and happens over and over again.

The sky has been falling many times in the past 10 years and money has been flowing like crazy several times in the past ten years. And so it goes.

You sure seem glad to have been right. Well congratulations.
I too felt concerned with people buying far more than they could afford. I sure as heck am not happy about any of it!!

No, the sky has never fallen like this, at least not since 1929. The biggest bank failure by a factor of 10 just happened and it barely made the news. If that does'nt scare you, I want whatever it is you're drinking.

The saddest result is all the great campgrounds that sold out to developers. I will especially miss the oceanfront ones we used to go to every year. Great memories

Call me a sceptic if you like but I believe if you open your eyes the economy is just fine.

Dow Jones is not the economy.

Sure doesn't seem as bad to me as during the 1970's when Jimmy C. was pres. No gas, HIGH interest, lost war, national moral in the tank. No I don't feel as bad now as I did then. BTW, all my credit cards still work fine, and interest rates on them haven't gone up, yet.
We're headed for Mexico the 25th of Oct. so I won't have CNNFOXMSNBCABCCBS telling me how bad it is for the next 5 or 6 months.

I am still working and I'm a owner of a Mom and Pops parts Warehouse.

We are covered with work and trying to get supplies to our customers.

No Time for crying here.
