For the few pennies worth of bleach and some water to rinse, why take a chance. Nothing worse then being sick or with the "trots".
Residual taste won't hurt you.

I wouldn't count on the low concentration of chlorine in city water to be very effective to sanitize anything. After 4 months and the summer heat I would clean and sanitize the water system.

How much bleach for each gallon of water? I'm pretty sure I have 80 gallons fresh, but I'm gonna have to cehck again. I used the RV sanitizer from a bottle last time.

For our TT I used to just poor a couple of cups of bleach into the empty garden hose before I put it in to fill the tank. Fill the tank then rinse once before I fill it for the trip. I am on treated water but we still don't drink it...

Use city water mainly or whatever is available in RV Parks (after tasting to make sure it does not have a bad taste) never had any problems. Only drain the tank once yearly and leave it empty till the next trip. Have never put any bleach in any water tank over the last 30 years. As I said before, no problems. But if you will feel better by adding additional clorine I don't think that low of a concentration of bleach will hurt.

Once a year is fine. Don't forget water has clorine in it. It's there to kill germs.

99.99% of the time, chlorinated water will be ok and nothing will grow in your tank under the conditions you describe. The bleach treatments add a massive overdose of chlorine and the system should then be flushed a time or two. It depends on how much you worry whether it is worth the effort.

I drain and refill mine at least once every month while it is in storage. We drink from the tank but it goes thru a fairly good filter on the kitchen sink cold water and to the icemaker. Why haul around 'old' water?
