Have afriend who has purchase a 29' Lexington made by forest river. Can any of the folks here shed some light on them. Their homepage doesn't give much detail on their construction.

R value
what is the Arctic package
reliability
framing.....AL or wood

and so forth. How good and bad experiences?

TIA

Don't know why people are against the Lexington by Forest River. We bought one in April and have been on the road since June. No problems with this unit. We are very satisfied with it. Every unit no matter what make or model will have small issues.

Has Bumpy owned a Lexington?

no I have looked at them when I was shopping however. I did visit the Forest River factory, or I should say I visited their parking lot. When I saw the condition of that I didn't even stop in.

Not meaning to sound like a jerk, but shouldn't your friend have asked these questions "Before" he bought the RV? Maybe it's better not to know now.

I bought a 2006 Lexington 283GTS, which sounds like what your talking about. It only had 7,600 miles on it, when we got it in June. So far we have only gone to Nashville, TN in July with it. It had to have the roof recaulked. (dealer took care of that - at no charge) If I planned to use it in the winter, I would get two small electric heaters - one for the bed room area and one for the front. I don't think the propane tank would last a week running the furnace in the winter. Even though the slidges gaskets seem to fit really good, I think you would get cold air transferring thru the slide areas. I think we will be fine with ours, not going north in the winter (maybe Florida or Alabama coast area.

Does anyone have any idea on the R value of the walls and roof. The new ones have fiberglass roofs ...... Snellville Dave is your's fiberglass also. What had to be recualked, the vents and stuff? Any ideas wether they are framed of wood or aluminum?

PR My roof is fiberglass, the sides are a gelcoat. The roof has seams, where the sides meet the curve of the roof on top. Don't know for sure, but I think it has wood not aluminum framing - wood because of the cost. For the cost I think the Lexington is ok.

The reports I have read on forums are either terrible hunk of junk to we really like it and have had no issues. It is hard to get any feel or real info on them. Most manufactures answer all the question I have right on their site but not on the forest river site. It really is vague.
