The DW has sort of gotten into the search of a new/new to us 5ver. She saw a couple of older units this past weekend with rear kitchens and really liked them. What are some of the better rear kitchens out there that we can check out. Interested in 3 slides, BR slide, plenty of underbelly storage, 33-35ft in length for starters. Going to the Fall RV & Camping Show this weekend at Lamar-Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, LA and want to do several walk-throughs. Thanks in advance for the replies. Steve A. Dagro

Rear kitchen models usually cater to the cooking. Usually more counter space and cabinet storage. When DW saw the layout on our Cougar 309EFS and the couter top space and big pantry, she had to have it and who was I to agrue???

My spousal unit fell in love with the Montana 3295RK.. 35feet, triple slide, king size bed, etc, etc, etc. I did not argue either. You can see the floor plan on the Keystone web site.

We don't have a 5er, but are looking at them and hope to upgrade. We, personally, are planning on staying away from the rear kitchen models. Would rather have the extra weight of the kitchen in the center of the rig. Less bouncing that way, and hubby is in love with the big windows in the back when the living area is there. I don't plan on cooking all that much...would rather sit and look out my windows. (And let DH do the cooking on the grill outside! Lol!) Have found several models that seem to have plenty of kitchen space, double fridge/freezer with the center kitchen.

We have a 2007 K-Z Sportsmen LX 3551PX4 which is now named the Durango LX 3551PX4 in 2008 and 2009 models. Rear kitchen. Have previously owned fiver with side kitchen, and have found this rear kitchen has much more counter space, cabinets, drawers, etc. Also has center island that makes the trailer seem more like an apartment on wheels. No problems with bounce. My toaster oven, cutlery rack, coffee pot, radio, all ride on the cabinets during travel. Great trailer at reasonable price.

We have a 1998 Newmar Mountainaire, rear kitchen, double slides, 1 in the bedroom and LOVE it. I have a big pantry, tons of counter space, lots of cabinets, every kitchen gadget a person could ever want. I vote for rear kitchens. Those who don't have them don't know what they're talking about.

We have Carriage Cameo rear kitchen with opposing slides in living/kitchen area and BR slide.
I did tremendous amount of research on fifth wheel quality. There are just a few supposedly premium brands and Carriage is one of them. Comparing it to my previous fiver, there is no comparison.
We were more interested in Brand and quality when we found our unit (used 2001) and it happened to be rear kitchen floorplan. However we are extremely pleased with layout and most certainly the built in quality from ground up of the Carriage.

We have an 07 Cruiser 29RK & love it. No bounce, left a Styrofoam cup (empty) on counter (by stove very rear of 5er) was still there 400 miles latter. Also have two large windows, one by dinning room table, the other by euro chairs. Also with rear kitchen it seems to make living area of 5er look bigger.
