Well I dont know where to begin except to point out the subject line of this post. My wife and I were infrequent posters yet interested readers of this site since we got into RVing 3 years ago. We purchased our retirement RV (on our fourth try) in May, 2007 a Fleetwood Pace Arrow 36D, quite a motorhome. To compliment the RV, in April of this year, we purchased a condo in Chattanooga TN that would serve as our home base from which we would explore the country when we retired in December 2012.

Well these plans all changed on August 21st when my dear wife, aged 51, passed away suddenly from a ruptured colon. In the ensuing 5 weeks, I have tended to the business of settling her affairs, watching carefully over our 19 year old daughter and grieving for my RV partner.

My point in posting this? To reinforce what may seem cliche to many, that we all should live each day to its fullest for we are not promised tomorrow. This lifestyle is one that my wonderful wife and I adapted to easily, in part because of the help we recieved when we posted on these forums from the wonderful people who make up the Rv family. To each of you who responded to my posts, I thank you.

If you are blessed with a loving partner, please tell them as soon as you can that you love them. Tonight before I turn in, I will tell my wife, Sandy, that I love her very much, but there will be no reply. I hope each of you gets a warm and grateful reply back from the one you love.

Take care all, and God bless.

My condolences for your loss. Indeed, we should tell our loved ones how we feel as often as we can. We'll keep you in our prayers.

Your post struck home, my wife of 22 years is also 51, and we have a 17 yo daughter and 20 yo son. I just woke them all up, they must think I am crazy, and told them I loved them.

God bless you and ease your grief, and we all know your beloved Sandy is and will always be in your heart, and watching over you. Take good care of your daughter, and I will pray for all of you. Take care of yourself. Slate

My step daughter dids suddenly on Aug 13th, leaving us with her two boys, 8 and 16 to raise, just as we were planning our retirement and going full time in the MH. Actually I retired 11 years ago, will start SS in Jan, wife just applied for her company retirement and it'll start in Nov. Kids get SS, not much but it all helps, plus they have state medical. Now having to tell all her creditors that there is no money to pay the bills and then hire an attorney to go after the hosp and Dr's for their misdiagnosis!

Naturally, at 36 she had no will or instructions so we had to go on what we though she wanted. My wife and I both have wills and end of life instructions done and have had for years. My parents died almost three years ago, father on Thanksgiving eve and mother on Christmas eve. They though they had everything planned too but it's taken about 3 years to get the creditors to quit calling for their cut of the "estate".

Anyway, it's never pleasant when someone dies, especially when it's unexpected! Good friend and ex boss had his colon perforate, just about lost him too, he went home last Sunday. Sounds like what happened to the OP's wife except he was in the DR's office when he passed out. Good thing too as he probably wouldn't have made it either.

We are so sorry for your loss. My mom was 56 when she passed. I am now 51 myself and still feel 'young' inside although the body is wearing down. It's hard to grief and even harder when you are trying to be strong for you child. Please know that you have people praying for you.

Your post brought tears to my eyes. Just today, I was reading the obit of my dd's friend's husband. He was only 42 years old and had 3 young children. We are not guaranteed tomorrow.

God Bless You.
