AC unit on my 99 Wildwood will not come on. This is following an incident a couple weeks ago while we were camping. We were too far from the power and I did not have my 30A extension so I used a heavy #12 cord that I carry. This shouldn't have been an issue as it was cool and we would not be using the air. While gone for several hours the AC came on because the kids had bumped the thermostat. When we returned the AC was moaning away struggling to turn on. I have no idea how long. I shut it off, it didn't kick off. I'm pretty sure the no start was from low amps. Now I'm home and on a proper cord. The AC will not come on. Fuses good, breakers set, good fully charged battery. Is there a thermal overload up on the unit itself? Its a duo therm.

Most likely (if you are lucky) the low voltage took out the start and/or run capacitor on the ac. These are inexpensive... hope they protected your compressor from being ruined.

I agree....cross your fingers....if the the thing was still cooling, your compressor "should" be OK.....Brian

Thanks, will the failed starting capacitor keep it from doing absolutely nothing? Its not even clicking or anything.

Yep, it literally burned out and went open circuit. ...Brian

" I shut it off, it didn't kick off....."

That would mean that the relay that is energized by the thermostat didn't open, relay contacts were welded shut due to high surge currents each time the compressor CB enabled a restart.

The blower should run regardless....

A/C is not getting power.
