We replaced ours with another Sharp because of the mounting plate. Crate and Home online $485 including shipping, took 3 days. When you remove yours have a bucket or box under it. They weigh about 70 lbs. We also bought an extended warranty since the Sharps have a poor reputation. About 7 yrs about $50

If I guessed it is a Sharp R 1874 would I be correct? The 59 second stopping problem is very common with them. Your problem is quite different, but I think it would be a lot cheaper to repair it than to buy a new one. That's what I discovered when mine went bad.
Let me know if you need info on how to remove it if, indeed, it is a R 1874

I replaced our "Sharp" microwave with a "GE Profile" convection/microwave from Home Depot - $600. After looking for two years that was the least expensive full size unit we could find. A year later we are VERY pleased with it.

If you replace the unit, be sure to secure the new unit such that it won't become a missile in the event of an accident!

You are correct Arch. I Googled this up, and it might help if OP has that model Sharp Oven 1874 Mind you this is just a guess. Parts for the Sharp 1874 can be bought here Sharp 1874 Parts
Best of luck

The Sharp r1874 is what I'm looking for, but no one seems to stock it here in Amarillo. Not enough time to order on line as were scheduled to leave Amarillo today. Looks like the GE Profile may be the only way to go here with what the locals have in stock.
Thanks for all the help.

All anyone in this town had in inventory was the GE unit, so I got one and put it in today. The hardest part was getting out the 28 screws that held the old bracket on.
