Anyone have any information for what I would need to know to setup my 3-LNB DirecTV satellite at Camp Hatteras? I will be using a Samsung receiver that is NOT HD and does not have DVR. (We just want to be able to watch TV if the weather goes downhill on us!!) Does it matter which of the coax plugs on the dish I plug into? And I came across an elevation of 34.9 and true azimuth of 229.7 with a magnetic azimuth of 240.6. This will be the first time I use the new setup on a trip, so any information you can provide me would be helpful! If you have stayed there and done this before, your information would be very valuable too. We are in site 13 if that helps anyone! Thank you very much!!!!

All you need to do if find out what the zip code is of where you're going to be. When you get there, put in the zip code and it will give you the azimuth, elevation, and tilt. Enjoy.

There is nothing to be gained by knowing the settings ahead of arrival. get them after you arrive as Ray suggests.

Use this web site ttp://www.uksatellitehelp.co.uk/2007/08/12/satellite-alignment-calculator-v2/ It is a British site but you can use any address in the USA. It will give you the information you need along with a satellite picture of the campground that you can zoom in on.
