I don't think DEI is finished yet.

If Rusty came back at least he would be out of the broadcast booth!

Oh Lord, please please please make this so...

Even though Sr did not drive for DEI don't you think he would be dissappointed by the direction his company is going in?
Being the competitor that he was, he wouldn't have let DEI slide this far.

When Junior announced that he was leaving DEI, Darrell Waltrip said "Without Junior, DEI will turn into a museum." It looks like he might be right.

Theresa and DEI have become the NASCAR version of Al Davis and the Oakland Raiders. All that remains for both of them is the glory of past triumphs.

It is a race to see which owner can run their organization into the ground faster.

I'd bet it will be Al Davis who goes first--probably because of ill-health.

I just hope that nobody here will get all caught up in mourning the death of DEI. I'm sure nobody will feel sorry for Teresa,.....I certainly won't. Heck, she's a multi-millionaire who can afford to live the life of leisure from now on. In fact, I'll be happy for her. I can just imagine the headaches and stress associated with having to compete with the likes of Rick Hendrick, Jack Rousch, Joe Gibbs, Richard Childress, Roger Penske, etc.
If I were in her shoes, I would auction off all the DEI assests and go enjoy all the horse events BIG TIME.
If auto racing is not your passion, IT"S NO BIG DEAL.

"I know Rusty won some, but he was beginning his descent into a DW type presence at the track. I just hope him coming back doesn't start a new fad, causing other owners to make a push to bring all retirees back, like happened with the open wheel driver push.

My question for you readers is how much longer before DEI is nothing more than a tourist attraction in North Carolina?

I give it two more years. Bass Pro leaves after next year. Rusty provides temporary help, then fizzles out. Truex is out at the time his contract is up.

DEI folds, but they will still sell all the stuff at the garage-ma-hal, and have tours. Teresa will be a tour guide!"

Rusty Wallace on Wednesday denied a report that he is considering ending his three-year retirement to drive again.

Rusty is NOT my favorite commentator either. BUT, I'm still looking at the brighter side; because she did not throw away her money on DEI, Teresa can now go on and enjoy what she truly loves (and that's a good thing),....PLUS Bass Pro will go with my favorite driver, Tony Stewart.
I love the NASCAR drama.

Start a "seniors tour" - Harry Gant, Richard Petty, Mark Martin, Rusty Wallace, David Pearson, Dave Markis, Dick Trickle, Morgan Shepard, and probably a bunch I'm forgetting.

Attract sponsors like AARP, Mobility chair, In home health care companies, Sunglasses companies that make the giant old guy sunglasses, Companies that make suspenders and overalls, Buick, Cruise lines, RV companies/resorts, prescription drug companies - viagra, diabetes meds etc.
