Can anyone tell me if the deposit they ask for online is extra? with the amount of days we stay or is the deposit included minus that amount of the days we stay?

The deposit is applied to the cost of your stay. You don't pay a deposit in addition to your campground fees.

That is the way it has always been at the KOA's at which we have stayed - all over the country.

The deposit is all or part of the first nights stay (depending on which campground). When you arrive you pay the difference, there is not an additional charge for the deposit. Mike.

Each campground sets its own rules regarding deposits and refunds. Instead of asking here at an internet forum where you may or may not get the correct answer, why don't you ask the campground where you are making the reservation regarding their policy about deposits and refunds?

While rules of RV parks regarding deposits vary regarding no shows, cancellations, etc., I have never seen a case where the deposit paid does not get applied to first night camping charge.

It's included in your first nite's stay.

You pay the remainder on arrival. You lose $10 if you cancel (or whole night's stay if you cancel too close to the date - see fine print online). I have found that if you have a bona fide travel delay and call the actual campground tel number, they will often waive the $10 fee. (Not true if you call the 800 number.) You might want to look into getting a KOA Value Card - it gives 10% off.

It's not just a KOA thing. I haven't stayed at a private CG yet that didn't require some type of deposit when booking the site. The deposit has always been applied toward the total cost of the stay.
