Hello everyone, my wife and I bought a travel trailer (sprinter 300kbs)and had been thinking of traveling/living in it full time. So, we went to Bend, Or from Chicago,IL (for a job) and did about 7 months (really well). My wife quit her job because she didn't like it and now we are back in chi. We want to hit the road just about every state for 6 month to a year per state. My question is what do we do for work?? Is there a network to get jobs at RV Resorts? Jobs that would provide income and free stay? Or any other ideas of finding jobs in advance of settling? Or I guess the best way to phrase this is how do i make money while traveling?
Any suggestions?????????

Not knowing what your skills are, can't even begin to tell you how to begin. But staying 6-12 mos would allow you to work through a Temp service or find jobs on Monster or Careerbuilder.com.

My DH works for a fairly small contractor (under 50 employees). We've always thought IF he's ever laid off, we're better off than one of our sons since we can close in the slides and move to where the work is. We're no longer tied down with kids in school or owning a house.

wojnowski, what a great name by the way, dont let the naysayers deter you. You can do it, if you want to. Go on line, study the newspaper in the town where you wish to go, and call the jobs listed, explain your situatiion and you WILL find work. Bet on it !!

My son said when we were in Bend, that work is more plentiful in Seattle Area for those in home construction. That might mean other jobs are also available. Those looking for work can also check US Employment Office, to find out what is available in areas you may be interested in heading for.

National Park system hires workampers in exchange for a full hookup site, but have never heard there is any additional pay. Many campgrounds pay minimum wage for working, then deduct the cost of a site from that. They say the IRS requires them to do it that way.
