Has anyone else had the recall work done on their Dometic fridge? I just got my recall notice a few days back and I was just wondering how long the work takes and what it entails.

There's around 9-10 shops here in Albuquerque that have been approved to do the work. According to the notice, the parts have already been shipped to the shops and should be in stock. Now I just have to find a shop that I trust to do the work. That's no easy task in itself.....

I was scheduled to have mine done Monday, but no gas here to fill up my truck so I had to cancel. They say it’s less than one hour to do the modification.

Mine was done in 1/2 an hour. That was on an 2005 model trailer.

I was on Vacation last week and had mine done in Michigan, took 35 minutes, start to stop, all it amounts to is a glorified heat shield...the dealer that did mine had one scheduled every 45 minutes...just plan to wait to have it done, alot easier than to drop off and return to get it..

Plus 2 thermal cutoff devices. These should detect a failure and shutdown the frig before any combustion gets past the heat shield.

As indicated, the fix is quick. Much better to wait the few min. than park and disconnect the trailer and return later.

I got my notice last week,
and haven't even gone out to the trailer yet
to check model number to see if mine is one
that needs repair. I hope not - dealer is 2hours away!
