I've just got a 1998 HR Endeavor (moved up to a DP) and want to install a satellite on the roof. I have to drill a hole for the elevation mechanism and thread coax cables to the front entertainment compartment. Any suggestions as to how I avoid any roof structural components and are there any cable routing tips ??

Call HR parts at 1-800-866-6226. They may be able to tell you where to drill. Good Luck!!

Like our Safari, I would think that your HR would already be wired for the sat antenna. The location of my sat ant placement is described in my owner's manual and the wires are clearly marked and connected to a panel in the overhead entertainment compartment. If this is the case with yours, most of the hard work is already done for you.

Again, as SRT suggested, give HR parts a call. I'm sure they will help you out. If not them, then call Monaco.

Hope this helps

Have you been up on the roof? My winnie has a factory sticker on the roof identifying where to drill and the cable was routed at the factory. Good luck.

Our 1998 HR Endeavor -- 37WDS DP -- has a label on the roof for the (supposed) location of the pre-wired cables for installing a satellite. We have never installed a satellite, but it MAY make me a little nervous to "punch a hole" in the roof and trust that I'd find the cables. But nothing ventured ... nothing gained.

On our 07 Diplomat, I found there was a fluorescent light in the ceiling in the same area as the prewire sticker. I took the light down and there were the wires. I felt better about drilling from the inside out.

I had a dome dish installed and the installer mounted it in the middle between the drivers and passenger seat on the roof and then ran the wire on the roof and down into the drivers side cabinet where the TV connections were. The wires only had to be run about 12-16 inches.
