Hello,
I read the SunPass posts but this is a little different. The new sunpass is permanent stuck to the windsheild, good price only $5 and they put $5 in your account, so my problem is the RV has the old removable sunpass and the toad had the new stuck on one, I think if I remove the older one
in the RV, that the one in the toad will not register and/or the gate won't open, as the winshield is blocked by the RV, I was thinking of some kind of cover to go over the stick on one on the toad, don't feel like paying twice, anyone try this yet ?
Did I lose you?
Thanks

I do know from a trip to the keys that if you are towing that each axle is the price of a car.So the one dollar toll gos to three dollars with a trailer.I don`t think they want you on there toll roads with a tow.As for sun pass they have messed up so many times billing that I will not touch one.Maybe you have better luck down there.

Yes, you lost me. When I tow, the Sunpass in the coach pays for the toad as well. I put the toad's Sunpass in a metallic sleeve that blocks it from being read so I don't pay twice for the toad.
I have not seen a fixed Sunpass, but if that is what you have you could probably block its operation by taping aluminum foil over it front and back.

No I didn't lose you, you have described it right and that's what I was thinking, covering it with foil, but they say it uses the windsheild as an antenna.
I guess I'll try it and see what happens.

If foil does not work, remove the battery from the Sunpass.

These new $5 ones have no battery, real small like a credit card but it has to be stuck to the windsheild or it won't work.

I didn't write any software for the Sunpass, but I was involved in the rest of the toll system on Florida's Turnpike and my guess is that the software is written to allow only one Sunpass detection per "transaction". You can think of a transaction as the time from when a gate goes back down until it opens for the next guy. There are a lot of detectors that need to be read - treadles for axles, vehicle separator, etc. and then the counters all get reset for the next vehicle. Also it would surprise me if the developers even thought of coding in software to accumulate Sunpass readings.
I presume you an check your account online as with EZ-Pass so I would certainly take a look after trying it, but basically I wouldn't worry about it.
