I change the oil every 2000 to 3000 miles. Have been doing this on all my vehicles over the years. I don't buy into this 5000 or 10000 miles baloney. The longer you run dirty oil in your engine, the sooner you will be paying for a rebuild. Change it often and use good oil.

I have a friend with a Audi (too expensive for me) that gives you a percentage of your oil life remaining depending on the computer's perception of your driving habits.

My MIL's 2008 Chevy Cobalt has this feature as well. Although I am not certain I would trust it 100%. She recently had me change the oil in her car and it had about 6000 miles on the original oil. The oil percent indicator still said 55%. I have a hard time believing that 6000 mile old oil in a gas burner still has 55% life left yet. I like to change my oil at 5000 miles or less. She didn't trust it either. She called the dealer and they said to change it. So she had me do it.
