I have one in my F-350 and have no problems at all. We have extended kingpin and 5vr never comes close to box. The only drawback the box blocks view of hitch for hooking up but only took a couple of times and I was able to gage where to align it on the box lid. Thought about painting a line on but never got around to it a now don't feel I need it.

For insurance we went with the unit that goes clear to the floor and is flush with the bed rails. My son in law has the tank with tool box on top. I needed more capacity so went with just the flush fuel tank. I really miss the tool space, but made the last trip without buy fuel.We have short beds, so flush mounts work for us.

We had a chest type in the F250 short bed, the top was just a hair under the top edge of the rails, kept having leaks for over a year with it, finally got TSC to swap it out with a low profile over the rail box.
Like the previous poster said, you have more box space with the chest than the low profile, but I like the low profile better as I can slide items under it when I have something to haul, for example 8' landscape timbers. I have about 8" clearance, so the low profile has worked well.
