So like normal I let Basset and Tiny out this evening after dinner. They stayed right up on the back door steps even though it is a nice day,, not hot, not cold, no wind. Seemed to me a perfect day for them to "hunt" in the brush pile like normal. nope they napped on the back steps.. a bit later I was out taking in the air with a glass of wine and just looking around.. and saw a big hawk glide over to the side of the barn and punch on something.. then take off. Probably one of the migrating ones, So they Knew that hawk was out there and just stayed out of sight till he left, as they are out prowling now that it is safe.. Smart Kitties.

Some smart kitties there!

Would love to let mine out to roam, but the coyotes are seen at all hours and lately there have been bobcat sightings in the area. Guess mine is stayin' inside.

We returned to our Arkansas home last week to take care of some business and Barney the cat came with us of course. At first he was nervous about where we were, but it took about 30 seconds to remember where he was and he RAN up the driveway and you could just see him saying "I'M HOME!!!!!!" He's been outside all day everyday, coming in at night to sleep. One day we missed him and couldn't find him for anything...well, we finally found him...inside the 5'er, ready to go! So I guess he has 2 homes in his mind now, which is real good, cause once this one sells he won't be back. But for now, he's having a ball. All that being said, I wanted to share one thing...on our screened in porch here we have a small area cut out of the screen between the door and the wall that makes an entrance/exit kitty door for Barney...well...he can't get through the hole...he's too fat! Since being here a week he's been loosing weight, which is great, but he still can't get through that door...poor fat cat...
