While not defending the op, it is a good reminder to be considerate of others and pull over when possible when driving slow whether it be in your car or RV

It's like anything else, it's what you are taught at home. Like being considerate of others. Respect yourself and you'll respect others. Welcome to the Forum.

margo,

Improvise and adapt, leave ten minutes earlier for your meeting. Many things can hold you up, including an RV on the road.

That's funny...we just took a 1,600 mile trip from PA to TX...we drive a constant 55 on any highway with at least two lanes, and just under the speed limit on any one lane road. Margo...can you tell me why EVERY SINGLE DRIVER on this trip, and any other one we've taken in the last two to three years has SPED by us like they were going to a fire...even on those roads where the speed limit WAS 55??? We had our hearts in our throats for three straight days, just trying to get where we were going without getting run down!!

It seems to me the ones NOT being considerate are those who think they have to rush everywhere they go. Working or not, running errands, whatever... we all need to be more considerate of each other on the road...and not driving insanely down the road is a great place to start. You guys in a hurry slow down...and those of us who in no hurry will be sure to move over when we see you coming!

Your very first post on this forum is a lecture, and then when it is not received warmly, you whine about being lectured.

Ken, the op was mlalich (aka: Margo) and I don't think she has come back so it's a little difficult to hear her whinning.....wait a minute...yep, I do hear something in the background that sounds a little like whinning. (pause)

No, sorry. I must be hearing that voice in my head again.

how does the saying go...

poor planning on your part doesn't necessitate a emergency on my part...

allow enough time to make your trip or risk being late...

being considerate goes two ways... the RV can not safely travel as fast as you may want to go...

the Rv should pull over only if it is safe to do so with enough room, and realizing once he pulls over there's a good chance the hurried drivers will not offer the same consideration and let him back into the lane of travel...

or are you suggesting every one should pull over a stop to allow you to make it to the soccer game...

oh and welcome...

you don't need thick skin, but it sure helps some times...

Margo,
Welcome to the forum. Thanks for your post. It is something that can't be posted too many times, although, there are some people on here that you will butt heads with, no matter what you post. Don't let them bother you. Again, welcome!

Sure, this is your first DWI spot check.
