Wantsalife, Usually these are the friendliest people around. Read more threads and you will get the picture.
However nobody here is a doormat either. You get what you give.
Later that same day.
I gave it sme thought and re-read the Original Post.
If you have a personal "emergency", use your flashers. I'll pull over at the first opportunity. That's what it is for.
But if you have a personal "problem" just use you horn. I'll get in your face ASAP.

Critical? Emergency? Grab a dictionary and read up.
Critical is a substantial overstatement. Courtesy, yes. Critical, absolutely not. Running late is almost always caused by lack of planning for departure or overplanning too many events in too close of a time period then not allowing for reality. By simply leaving 5 minutes earlier the problems will usually all go away 99%+ of the time. Personal emergencies are usually lack of planning, impatience or overexaggeration and are seldom, if ever, actual emergencies. Yes, there are true emergencies occasionally however a run to the supermarket for chips and beer before the party starts is not an emergency. Road rage is little more than self centered me first behavior. (Do be aware that road rage against a vehicle that is 5-8 times one's mass will likely get one's self squashed completely into the ground - it's straightforward physics)

Please take into account that we're not all retired or on vacation when traveling even when we're running 15-20 or even 30mph below the speed limit. Sometimes it's fuel efficiency, sometimes it's safety related. A 5 ton RV even with new tires and ABS does not turn or stop like a 1800lb sports car. Never has, never will. Pulling over isn't always an option. Shoulders aren't always wide enough or safe for us to clear a lane enough for others to pass. The dirt next to the shoulder is usually a very bad idea especially at speed. (Do you really want us to slow down over 1500feet then come to a near complete stop in the middle of a high velocity road so we can inch off the pavement for you? (If you do, you might want to watch your rear view mirrors and plan on getting pile driven into the cage in front of you) If there are 2 lanes, sometimes the right lane isn't the safest place for us. If you have clearance, take the other lane and go, we won't stop you. Just don't try to wedge us off the road at 50mph when the passing lane or entry ramp ends because if you do, you're very likely to end up in the oncoming traffic lane or in the ditch. As for pulling over contributing to safety of all drivers, consider that we might be going slow for a really really good reason..and you can't see that reason way down there below our seat height with a wall of RV right next to you as you blast, or attempt to blast, past us.

If everyone would simply relax a little and enjoy life for a change, all the stress would go away.

Southwind85,

I've got to hand it to you. That was a VERY good post.

I related to everything you were explaining, as I used to drive OTR. I'm just sorry that you wasted your time because we know that "Margo" won't be back to read it. As I said in my previous "BLASTING" post, she had a gripe and came in here to get even.

Some people see nothing but sugar and spice and can't see through these trolls. Nobody chased her away. She had no intention of coming back. She just wanted to get us all in an uproar. I replied what I did to her for a reason. If she came in and disappeared, then my post was worth it. But she won't be back. And if for some reason she does, she owes us an apology.

These are the type of people on the road that cause road rage.
But they will never blame themselves, so they have to blame it on the RVer's Truckers, and all HOV operators. I have said it once, and 1000 times, let all the inexperienced 1800 pound 4 wheeler drivers, drive a 40ton truck for a week and see how they feel when "thier type" is cutting them off. Maybe, and only then will they understand and they might have some respect for us. But I'm not holding my breath.

Again, you made a great post, and I'd run with you any day.
Happy and safe trails.

What a bunch of jerks on here. The OP never said anything about wanting to exceed the speed limit. If your vehicle or you are not capable of driving the speed limit under normal conditions, GET OFF THE ROAD!

Just a note. I think you have forgotten that the "speed limit" is just that. It is the maximum "limit" that you can legally obtain. There is nothing in the law books that says you "have" to go the speed limit, only that you can't exceed it. So those who choose to NOT go the speed limit is just as legal as those who do. It has nothing to do with not being capable...just that they choose not to.

And of course, name calling is very immature of you. There may have been one or two replies that were out of line, but surely you don't suggest that everyone who posted here is a jerk....hummm? People are just expressing their opinions....that doesn't necessarily make them a jerk. Wrong maybe... but not a jerk.

coming form someone with such narrow views as pitch, I would wear the badge proudly...

disagreement, different ideas and different opinions are what makes the forums work...

how boring a thread would be with nothing but dittos and I agree without reasoning to go with it...

OH YA SOUTHWIND... I AGREE... DITTO... AND GOOD POST...
