we are looking at buying a slide to use on trips where the 30 footer is just not suiting our needs, hunting and fishing in the back country etc...

so we are looking for suggestions on make and model...

we really want a shower and toilet, the rest of the floor plan doesnt matter so much... but it has to fit in a shortbox truck... tailgate down or off is fine, but no bumper extensions...

it will only be DW and BabyChucker (she is only comming up on 2 years old at the moment)

we've been to a few local dealers.. 15K is just too much for me... so Im trying the used market...

thanx for your input...

Six Pac makes reasonably priced fully contained campers that won't overload your truck.

Since you are in Canada, I would check out Fraserway RV for a used Adventurer rental return unit.

or find someone with a used adventurer unit. a few of us with regular 2500 short boxes have the 810ws. i added air bags to my truck, not sure what the HD has different than the regular. BTW mines a GMC 2500 sierra 6.5ft bed. the 810ws has tons of storage, full wet bath, possible built in gene (if wanted). got mine used this year for 7000, 2000 over blue book average but the thing had seriously NEVER been taken out camping, just used in the yard for 8 years. mines a 1999. bathroom could be bigger, though its pretty big for a short bed camper. BTW this camper is 2 inches short of 9 feet long but is designed for short box campers. large fridge, double sink, stove/over, there nice for a cheaper shot box camper. my 14 year old and i share cit and it can get small when in it for a while, but when were camped up; inside we just think about what it would be like tent camping in the same conditions.

- 1999 GMC Sierra 2500 Extended Cab 6.5FT Bed
- Firestone Ride-Rite Airbags.
- 1999 Adventurer 810ws
- Yamaha ef1000i
- 2 Costco Volt Batteries
- Soon To Add 80+ Watts Solar, Solar Boost 2000E, Xantrex TrueCharge RV XADC 60 Amp, TriMetric 2020 Battery Monitor

I've had my '06 2500HD (gas) and Lance 845 for 3 years now. Live in it and travel for 6 months out of the year. I love it and it's worked out great. Bought my 845 used for $9K 3 years ago and almost nothing has gone wrong with it. Highly recommended.

FYI, I average around 11.5 mpg with the camper on.
