James Hendrix,
While I have only been active on the RV internet world for about 12 years and a fulltimer for just short of nine years, to date I can recall only one time that I have ever heard of any full-time RV folks who wanted to hire someone to drive the RV and live in it with them at the same time. In this case, the the man was severely disabled, the sought employee was to drive and also to help with personal care of the invalid male. I have no idea of what the pay arrangement was but I do recall that they advertised on several RV forums and also in the magazine "Workamper News."
I am sure that there probably are a few others who seek this type of assistance. There may also be a few who just want a driver, but in reading your post, I would suppose that you are looking to travel with the employer for more than just one trip across the country, but for the longer term and into many different locations? There might be such a market, but I think that it would be very small. I doubt that many of the RV community that I have ever known have a budget that could pay a person to drive the RV.
Good travelin! ........Kirk

In my opinion the 'internet forum' is the most valuable resource for information, answers and educated opinions on most any topic. Once again I am able to qualify or disqualify an idea without having to make a call or leave my home. How great is that?
Thanks for your responses - they are not taken lightly.

You could try NASCAR, ARCA, Trans Am. IRL, NHRA. Most all drivers have MHs. Hardley any drive them. They have drivers that take them to the track. Set them up, and leave. They get to stay in the motel. Most also work on the pit crew, or cook. Give it a shot. Nothing to lose. But I'm bettin. There is a waiting list.

I am on strike right now and could benefit from a temporary job like this. Unfortunately, I don't have time to go through a lengthy application process and I dont' have a CDL.
It would be nice if I could just fly in somewhere and drive a rig back a few thousand miles.
Hopefully, somebody on here can guide you in the right direction for a more permanent arrangement.

Contact the RV manufacturers,i'm sure they use private drivers to deliver the larger RV's.
Locally there is a large school bus manufacturer (Thomas) that uses many private drivers to deliver the busses all over North America.
I have heard of rent a car companies using drivers to drive cars back to their original home bases.

Once again, Kirk is right on the money.
I've just GOT to meet this guy!
As many have said, the market for this is really no market at all aside from the commercial RV transport companies. In our two years on the road as fulltimers, we've never met any RV'ers with a personal driver and of the only three commercial RV transport drivers we've met, none of them were making decent money.
My advice would be to look for another occupation.
Traveling our country and seeing the sights, enjoying fun-filled days and campfire nights

It wouldn't be RV driving but I know that the guys on the Bassmaster circuit often look for qualified people to drive their boats from location to location during the season. The fisherman cover a huge range of states in a short period of time and have to rest- consequently some of the big boys use trusted drivers to get their rigs fron point A to point B.
My husband and I have been offered such a deal (we live on Clear Lake and the tour comes here quite a bit- plus handle our own 22 foot Ranger bass boat and fish). Unfortunately we had to pass because we have animals and didnt want to leave them. It would have been a great experience.

I have a retired uncle that delivers for Winnebago. Not really sure what he makes but has a toad that he just jumps in and returns home. Pretty sure he sometimes uses them just to catch a few zzzz's on the way.
He was also contacted from a Penske race team and asked to drive one of the haulers to the tracks and then just hang out and wait till the race is over and then off to the next place. No idea how they got his name but he turned it down. Guess he likes the part time nature of delivering motorhomes and tinkering around when he is home.

Perhaps you would be more successful at finding a job as a truck driver.
Many opportunities exist in that field, and the opportunity for travel is great.

I wasn't perfectly clear in my initial post regarding my intentions; I am not looking for a career. Due to a recent break-up, I have some free time to do whatever I wish. I thought it would be great to drive around the country while earning money.
Thanks for your time RVers.
