I just purchased a 2006 gearbox 260 asv. I am trying to winterize the water system. I live in Rochester NY. So I have to winterize. The previous owners was nice enough to have all of the parts installed. I turn on the water heater bypass, and drained the water heater. When I fliped the quater turn valve in the water pump pick up, I had no suction (with the pump on). So I added a few gallons in the fresh water tank and turned the valve back to tank to pime the line. Once I got the lined prime the antifreeze line pick up so I flipped the valve again. Now I was drawing fluid. After pumping a few gallons I still had nothing coming out of the faucets. So I pulled the dump on my fresh water and found all my fluid. It back fed into the fresh water tank.
Im lost and hope someone can help me.
Thanks Joe.

Not familiar with your rig but on mine if you have the valve on the incoming fresh water turned to fill the tank instead of going directly to the sinks etc ,that will happen. Hope this helps

Check on the inlet side of your pump from your fresh water tank there should be a valve to close from the pick up side of your fresh water tank... T-10

I would have just primed with water from the tank then flipped over to the antifreeze jug pickup. I have never added antifreeze directly into my fresh water tank.

I suspect that Carjon is on the right track. If you have a valve to use the city water connection to fill the tank, and if that valve is left open when you run the water pump the discharge of the pump will just run back into the fresh water tank. I would check the tank-fill valve first.

Now that you have antifreeze in the tank, you may want to draw from the tank as much as you can, before you place another jug of antifreeze under your suction line.

Thanks for all the help. Im not sure where the valve for the city water is.

This is what I did and it seemed to work. I have a tank and hose I bought for my boat to winterize the outdrive. I screwed right in to my city water hook up. I put 3 gallons inthe tank and charged the tank with 20 psi and got the antifreeze to come out the faucets. So I think it worked!
