Setting here at the ranch in Washoe Valley, Nevada looking at the seasons 1st snowfall on Mt Rose. Had rain here at the 5000' level, but snow at the 6000' level. The DW says we are leaving for Moab UT and some ATV riding, the 1st of the week, as she is not going to shovel snow. LOL

Sounds great, but she'll miss the winds and snow drifts.
I spent 24 years driving across that valley and it was always exciting during the winter snows. Chains anyone?

Wish there was some of that cool weather here in Bama, where it's sunny and 86.

Can't blame her.
Have been shoveling the snow my whole childhood. On the side of carrying few tons of coal from the curb to the basement couple times a season. It is nice to be able to drive slightly over 2 hr to ski resort. Only when it is not snowing >> who would like to get the car dirty?

But BOB... the question is... did you wimp out and turn on the furnace this morning ? ..... heh heh heh heh ..

I came real close to turning mine on, not because it was that cold,.. it never got below 50 degrees... but because of the wind and humidity .. or as we say down south... "Hum-ma-ditty"

Here is downtown Carson City, it rained just enough to get my hair wet when I went out to the truck at 0600 this morning... and it continued to drizzle until about mid morning..

(deep sigh) ... I guess winter is indeed on it's way again... GOD, I hate winter !!

Think I'll go down to the Horseshoe in the morning and get enough money to pay my heating bill for this winter.. ya think ?...

TWO CENTS WORTH
The story goes that a man died and was approached by the Devil who told him that he could buy his soul back for a dollar. The man searched his pockets and could only come up with 98 cent. While begging the Devil to forget the two cent he was short, an Angel happened by and hearing the Devil laughing, asked the man, "Would you mind if I put in my two cents ?" The Devil got so mad that he exploded in a puff of smoke and the man's soul was saved.
The moral: Sometimes putting in your two cents worth makes a difference.

Hey John, went to CC yesterday for lunch at the Basque Deli & Cafe on Roop St, then checked out the Nugget for RVers. Their lot was full and several said it was because of the Mayor in Reno enforcing the no RV parking ban in Reno. Anyway, it is cold here this morning, but a beautiful sunrise. Did you do any good yesterday at the horseshoe? Stay warm.
