I have a portable Satellite in my 5er. I take the spare reciver from home when we are going on the road. Do I need any special type Converter or will the standard Converter work with my satellite hook up?

You don't need to use a digital converter with satellite. It's only needed with analog signals you get from the batwing antenna. All stations will continue to broadcast analog signals until Feb. 2009.

If you are referring to the digital TV standard in 2009, then it does not have any effect on Satellite or cable TV. You need nothing additional.
